HP has its responsibilities, and i certainly will keep this in consideration the next time i buy a printer I found out that the HP Solution Center was not working only when i went to scan a document, and i certainly wasn't pleased by it, thankfully it isn't something urgent, but my printer still has lost some important functionality now and if HP doesn't provide an update i will probably have to buy a new printer spending money that i wasn't planning to spend only because Microsoft decided to disable a library on my own computer via an update Now, i understand disabling Flash on browsers The risks of getting some kind of malware through a standalone software that doesn't need to talk to the internet are literally zero, so there is not even this excuse for what they did.
Since HP has discontinued their support for HP Solution Center as announced recently on their support website , I was figuring out a way to still use the software for printing and scanning using my HP printer. My computer runs on Windows 10, and does not appear to have Flash separately installed anymore though Flash components are still in my Windows system folders.
But HP Solution Center seems to have Flash components already embedded into its code likely done during installation , which expired on Jan. The HP software only requires Flash to be valid when starting up. So, the work-around at least in my case is to temporarily reverse the computer clock back to a prior date, and reset the clock after the HP software startup is finished.
This needs to be done each time the HP software is started. After that, the software runs normally as before. A simple Windows batch script will do the job quite well automatically. I am not a computer programmer, but I managed to create a basic Windows batch script just for this, as follows:.
